Volunteering

Become a mentor
Training and on-going supervision is provided.  Mentors can work one-to-one with a matched family, and/or as Grandparent group facilitators.  We also are seeking volunteers to help with child care during COPES, ParentNet, and Grandparents groups.

Become a Board member
The Board of Directors meets at 8:00 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, September through June.  Board members commit to one three-year term. Terms rotate to provide for consistency and diversity.  Each Board member participates in fund development events and serves on at least one committee.  These include Program/Planning, Fund Development, Diversity, Finance, Nominating, Public Relations, Personnel, and Awards Luncheon.   For more information, please contact Rebecca Wade-Rancourt, (203) 748-4542 or send an email to:  Board@danburychildadvocacy.org

Financial

Contributions from supporters are critical to our ability to balance our budget and to maintain programs at current levels of service.  Contributions are gratefully received at any time and are tax deductible as determined by federal tax laws. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, federal ID # 06-0954596.  Unrestricted contributions help us meet our operating expenses which represent only 15% of our budget; 85% of our income directly supports staffing and program costs.  Donors may designate a specific program to benefit from their contribution. These contributions may be made through Paypal, or may be mailed to our Danbury office.

Adopt a Family

Over 85% of the families we serve live below the federal poverty level.  There are many obstacles for families throughout the year. The back-to-school needs of the fall put a great strain on family resources, especially for the older children whose needs now expand beyond the basic school supplies and clothing to expensive scientific calculators required for math and science class. The winter holiday season especially strains their meager resources.  Through Adopt a Family, donors can contribute gifts from a wish list provided by families in need.  To register as a donor for this opportunity,  please contact the administrative offices at (203) 748-4542 or send an email to: Center@danburychildadvocacy.org
